The Cape Peninsula University of Technology are leaders in innovation in the field of technology in Souther Africa.

Currently, CPUT, with apprved funding from the National Research foundation are developing the Universities first satellite. Funding of R21 million has been approved for the development and is indicative of their motto to be at the heart of technology education and innovation in Africa.

CPUT offers the following faculties, Applied sciences, business, education and social sciences, engineering, health and wellness sciences and informatics and design. Each faculty offers a host of degrees with the emphasis being on technological training and development.

The University has a long and prestigious history educating in South Africa, “The history of the University goes back to 1920 when the foundation stone of the Longmarket Street Building of the then Cape Technical College was laid in Cape Town. The establishment of the college followed more than ten years of representations by the community for the consolidation of the technical courses which had been offered in various venues in town. “
